Hear the words 'all in' in connection with gambling, and you know something big is about to go down, right? For better or for worse, there's a hope that fortune, luck, and the universe are going to unfold favorably and reward such an audacious (or foolish) move. There are certain ballsy connotations associated with the phrase 'all in' that just were not met when reviewing Gameburger Studios' online slot Hyper Gold All In. An addition to the developer's Hyper series, this one is not a wannabe of Assassin Moon as Hyper Gold was, but it shares many common traits with Mining Pots of Gold. So yeah, not exactly getting off to an 'all in' start.
Hyper Gold All In does get off to a certain level of sensory overload, though, full of so many flashing lights it almost needs to come with a warning. Sarcasm aside, it's like residing on the inside of an equalizer where little blocks of light flash away. To the left side, for some reason, is a bundle of skyrockets to celebrate a solid result, perhaps, alongside commentary such as 'Go for the gold' or 'Nice move'. Eh, the fireworks effects are low-key amusing, as is the audio. Movin' right along.
Bet selection in Hyper Gold All In goes from a low of 20 cents to a high of $/€60 per spin. It has a highly volatile math model feeding into a default RTP of 96% with two lower configurations to look out for. The gaming takes place on a 5-reel, 3-row matrix, where 20 paylines award winning combinations, which start from the leftmost reel and hit along adjacent reels.
The lowest value symbols on the pay table are the 9 to A card ranks, followed by coins, coins and a bar of gold, bars of gold, dollar signs, and a star. Landing a 5-matching low pay combo awards 2-6 times the bet, rising to 10 to 50 times the bet for getting 5 of the high pay symbols in a win. Wilds are present on all reels, substituting for all pay symbols and awarding 100x the bet for a 5 wild win. Wilds can appear stacked and pay 2x when substituting. Also, should wilds land on all reel positions, they form a Wild Blackout, which pays 2,000x in addition to line pays.
Hyper Gold All In's features, as brought over from Mining Pots of Gold, are bonus enhancers and a bonus round where prizes may be won.
Bonus enhancers reset when the bonus feature is complete. They reset with up to 3 bonus prizes, x2 bonus multiplier, and 5 bonus spins when returning to the base game.
Scatters are collected when they land for a chance of randomly triggering the bonus feature. When activated, whatever bonus enhancers have been collected are awarded for the round. At best, it is possible to win up to 20 bonus prizes, an x10 bonus multiplier, and 12 bonus spins. The combination of prizes is determined when the feature triggers.
The bonus round displays bonus prizes and bonus tiles. Bonus tiles can also randomly change to bonus prizes, and additional bonus prizes can be awarded during bonus spins. The multiplier can be randomly applied to a bonus prize on every bonus spin - up to a maximum of 12 bonus prizes. At the end, prize values on the screen are paid out, plus, getting 5, 10, 15, 18, or 20 bonus prizes awards an extra 5x, 15x, 30x, 50x, or 1,000x the bet.
Hmm, don't want to sound all bratty elitist or anything, but it didn't really feel like Gameburger Studios went all in when making Hyper Gold All In. Partially in? Maybe. Basically, Hyper Gold All In was a rerun of Mining Pots of Gold with a jazzy, Vegasy makeover. It looks generic, flashy yes, but generic, and has nothing new or interesting mechanical to check out, so few thrills were experienced during the review. Perhaps the Games Global fan base will be satiated for the five minutes it takes for the next mutation to come along, but to put it nicely, Hyper Gold All In didn't seem destined to make a big splash on the gambling scene.
But, there must be a sizable crowd ready and willing to lap up what the Games Global studios sling at them, and Hyper Gold All In likely has an appreciable audience out there, too. It's 4,000x the bet max win shoots for the mid-ground, in a game that, on the whole, shoots for the mid-ground as well. Recycled gaming in a jazzy skin is tough to big up, and it's hard to think of much more to add other than Hyper Gold All In's pop was closer to a Christmas cracker than an extravagant skyrocket. By the end, there wasn't much about Hyper Gold All In that was either 'hyper' or 'all in'. Rather, Hyper Gold All In was another one of these Games Global studios' slots that patches together parts of previous games and is marched out the door to keep the freight train of mediocrity rumbling along.
